DESCRIPTION: Sediment samples were characterized for disposal options according to “the management and regulation of dredging activities and dredged material in New Jersey’s tidal water, October 1997” via bulk chemistry and leachate methods.

PROJECT TYPE: Fast Track site characterization

DESCRIPTION: 10-20 samples were received each evening for TCL/TAL analysis on a 72 HR fax, one week hardcopy TAT. The project lasted for 7 days and was successfully completed. The quick TAT facilitated the property transaction and additional contracts have been obtained with the final client.

DESCRIPTION: 1000’s of samples were received from numerous contractors for soil characterization of UST parameters. All TPH samples were performed on TAT of 48 hrs. and VOA samples on a TAT of 72 hours.

PROJECT TYPE: Lead in Drinking Water Analyses

DESCRIPTION: Project required analysis of over four hundred drinking water taps on a military base. The samples had to be analyzed within a two-week period with diskette deliverables provided. The project was completed ahead of schedule and has shown numerous lead contaminated locations.

CLIENT: Fortune 100 Lighting Company

PROJECT TYPE: Plant Decontamination and Closure Analyses

DESCRIPTION: Two-year project involving analyses for interior decontamination of a large fluorescent light manufacturing facility. Expedited turnarounds for approximately three thousand inorganic samples were normal over lifetime of the project. The site was successfully decontaminated and sold within six months of project completion.

PROJECT TYPE: Analyses of Soils and Waters for Fortune 500 Site Remediation

DESCRIPTION: Veritech performed priority pollutant metals on approximately two hundred samples (soils and waters) for a major manufacturer of specialty metals. The project required development of analytical methods for cerium and samarium. The soil and water samples were taken to support a plant closure and sale. The project was successfully completed after one and a half years.

CLIENT: Construction Company (DOT Project)

PROJECT TYPE: Waste characterization of Soils for DOT Road Project.

DESCRIPTION: Major roadway construction required massive soil disposal. Client needed approximately one hundred waste classification samples analyzed in a one-month period. Analysis of the samples were performed on time allowing the client to remain on schedule with road construction.

PROJECT TYPE: Characterization of Drinking Water Samples

DESCRIPTION: 100 drinking water samples were received over a two-month period for complete investigation of potential hazards. Standard 500 series methods (524.2, 525.2, 515.2, 505, 551, 552) were performed by Veritech and non-standard common methods were subcontracted and coordinated by Veritech.

DESCRIPTION: Over 800 wipe samples were analyzed for Base/Neutral constituents. The turnaround time was 36 hours after sample received. Samples arrived in batches of 10-90 six days per week.

PROJECT TYPE: Hazardous Characteristics Screening of Unknowns

DESCRIPTION: In order to support a long- term contract for disposal of unknown chemicals at a Fortune 100 pharmaceutical company, Veritech developed qualitative tests specific to the incineration facilities profile sheet. More than three thousand samples were analyzed over a two-year period. Using the developed methods enabled the client to dispose of fifty percent more unknowns than the previous contract winner and at less cost.

PROJECT TYPE: Waste Characterization of Stockpiled Soil

DESCRIPTION: Stockpiled soils from numerous remediation projects at DOD research facility required waste characterization for disposal. Approximately fifty samples had to be analyzed in a one-month period and reported with full regulatory deliverables as per DOD specifications. The project was completed on schedule.

PROJECT TYPE: Identification of unknown samples

DESCRIPTION: Storage building for DOD research facility required absolute identification of over 2500 samples in a three-month time frame. The project was completed within the required period by utilizing a combination of Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy, X Ray Fluorescence Spectroscopy, and X Ray diffraction. Based upon the absolute identifications, no priority pollutant scans were necessary and the ultimate savings to the government was in excess of $ 2,000,000.

CLIENT: Fortune 100 Electronics Company

PROJECT TYPE: Mercury Analysis of Soil and Water samples

DESCRIPTION: Natural disaster caused collapse of warehouse. The building was extensively stocked with items containing elemental mercury. Snow and spring rains threatened to carry the contamination off-site. An emergency clean-up effort was commenced and hundreds of emergency soil and water samples were analyzed for mercury. The contamination was successfully contained on-site in part to the timeliness of the mercury analyses.

PROJECT TYPE: TCL/TAL Analysis

DESCRIPTION: Investigation and delineation of contaminants at a NJ Superfund site. 100s of samples were received for TCL/TAL and Herbicide analysis. Data was performed according to the Shell Document specifications and validated by Army Corps personnel.
